RCRA 1/8 Offroad Rules

At RCRA, we follow a set of rules designed to ensure racing is safe, fair, and fun for everyone. Please take a moment to review these before entering an event.


General Conduct

  • All drivers and pit crew must act with respect towards officials, fellow competitors, and spectators.
  • Unsportsmanlike behaviour (verbal or physical) will not be tolerated.
  • Safety is the responsibility of everyone — unsafe behaviour can result in removal from the event.

Vehicle Regulations

  • All cars must comply with RCRA 1/8 Offroad specifications.
  • Technical inspections may be carried out at any time during an event.
  • Fuel, tyres, and electronics must meet current class requirements.

Race Procedures

  • Drivers must attend the drivers’ briefing before racing.
  • Marshal duties are compulsory — failure to marshal may result in penalties.
  • Starts, restarts, and finishes will be managed according to race control instructions.
  • Timing and scoring are official as per the electronic lap counting system.

Penalties

  • Cutting the track, corner cutting, or gaining an unfair advantage will result in time penalties.
  • Repeated or deliberate rule breaches may lead to disqualification.
  • Decisions by race officials are final.

Classes

  • Nitro Buggy
  • Electric Buggy
  • GP and EP Truggy (where offered)

Each class runs under IFMAR-based rules adapted for RCRA competition.
